The "Middle Deschutes" river is a remote and hidden jem in the heart of Central Oregon. Though most of its water is diverted for ranch irrigation in the summer, it flows from Bend to Billy Chinook in the winter. There are technical rapids to navigate, manditory portages, and much of it runs through private property. Its cold water is mostly in the shadow of steep canyon walls. All of this as makes for an unpopulated river.
This video clip features a small section of river between Tumalo and Cline Butte.
